10 Engineering Simulation Software

Simulations software is built on the technique of using mathematical formulas to represent a real-world phenomenon. It’s essentially a program that allows a user to simulate an operation and view it without really conducting it.

It helps you predict the behavior of a system. You can use simulation software to evaluate a new design, diagnose problems with an existing design, and test a system under conditions that are hard to reproduce.

Engineering Simulation Software

Autodesk is a design software company that serves customers across the manufacturing, architecture, building, construction, media, and entertainment industries. Autodesk has taken a leading role in the development of robotics, Augmented and Virtual Reality, and 3D printing.

What is  AutoCAD used for?
Autodesk is the company that develops Autocad, Autocad Civil 3D, and so many others. Autocad is used most for doing 2D drawings and detailing and recently for 3D modeling.

2. ANSYS

What is ANSYS used for?
ANSYS is a general-purpose, finite-element modeling package for numerically solving a wide variety of mechanical problems. These problems include static/dynamic, structural analysis, heat transfer, and fluid problems, as well as acoustic and electromagnetic problems.

3. SolidWorks

What is SolidWorks used for?
SolidWorks is a solid modeling computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) in 3D technology, empowering product design teams with intuitive, high-performance software that is easy to use, and provides the freedom to design products.

4. Cadence

Cadence is a key player in electronic system design, 3D packaging, intelligent sensors, and 5G radios. Computational software tools handle the design issues of each of the three design dimensions: semiconductor, system, and intelligence.

 5. Matlab

MathWorks developed a proprietary multi-paradigm programming language and numeric computation environment. Matrix operations, function and data visualization, algorithm implementation, user interface building, and interfacing with programs written in other languages are all possible with MATLAB.

6. Simulink

Simulink is a MATLAB-based graphical programming environment for modeling, simulating, and analyzing multidomain dynamical systems. Simulink is widely used in automatic control and digital signal processing for multidomain simulation and model-based design.

7. RoboLogix

RoboLogix is a robotics simulator that emulates robotics applications using a physics engine. Robotics simulation tools, such as RoboLogix, have the advantage of saving time in the design of robotics applications while simultaneously increasing the level of safety.

8. SimScale

SimScale is computer-aided engineering (CAE) software product based on cloud computing. SimScale was developed by SimScale GmbH and allows computational fluid dynamics, finite element analysis, and thermal simulations.

9. NI Multisim

NI Multisim (previously MultiSIM) is an electronic schematic capture and simulation software that, along with NI Ultiboard, is part of a suite of circuit design programs. Multisim is among the few circuit design packages that still use Berkeley’s initial SPICE-based software simulation.

 10. AnyLogic

AnyLogic is a multimethod simulation modeling tool developed by The AnyLogic Company. It supports agent-based, discrete event, and system dynamics simulation methodologies. AnyLogic is cross-platform simulation software that works on Windows, macOS and Linux.
