Volocopter is a German-based company that has been developing and selling vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) electric multi-copters for commercial use. The Volocopter 2X was the first commercially available VTOL multi-copter, which entered into service in 2014.
In 2015, the company introduced its second generation of VTOL vehicles called Volocopter 2XS. The Volocopter 3X features an improved design with a larger battery pack and more powerful motors. It can carry up to 1 person at speeds of up to 100 km/h (62 mph). The vehicle is capable of vertical take-offs.
First air taxi airport
Volocopter debuted the “world’s first air taxi airport” on October 21, and the business also displayed how to operate its VoloCity eVTOL aircraft near Marina Bay in southern Singapore.
The business also collaborated on a feasibility study with Grab, the largest ride-hailing service in Singapore. The Singaporean government welcomed and supported the march. The business collaborated closely with numerous government agencies to launch its initial proposed flight route and permit test flights for its “air taxi” service in the region.
2021 The business announced in January 2021 that two of its VoloCity planes would undergo operational testing in 2023.
