Samsung has begun distributing its security fix, however, the Galaxy S22 series has not yet received it. When the business does choose to release the upgrade to the S22, there may be another update released soon afterward due to two recent zero-day hacks. Two different zero-day hacks that were discovered before the vendor was made aware of the vulnerability led to the compromising of the Galaxy S22. Two top hacking teams competing in this year’s Pwn2Own competition found the exploits.
Every year, the Pwn2Own competition pits competing hackers against one another. The Galaxy S21 was twice compromised by the occurrence in a span of 48 hours the previous year. But this year, the rivals succeeded in hacking the Galaxy S22. This year, however, the competitors managed to hack the Galaxy S22 running on the latest operating system and firmware twice in one day.
Thanks to multiple hackers, critical “zero-day” flaws in NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices from HP, NETGEAR, Synology, Sonos, TP-Link, Canon, Lexmark, and Western Digital have been identified. Samsung’s most recent high-end smartphone, the Galaxy S22, is reported to feature the most egregious problems.
